Private eye Jake Gittes lives off of the murky moral climate of sunbaked, pre-World War II Southern California. Onze korte recensie
Polanski's masterpiece remains a towering achievement in neo-noir cynicism—the labyrinthine plotting and Nicholson's coiled desperation are secondary to the film's glacial, suffocating sense of systemic corruption.
